LAWN
FACTS & REMOVALS
You
might be wondering why
Organic Landscapes
is primarily focused on removing lawns
and installing beautiful low-water plants.
Here are the facts:
The
typical lawn needs between 1-2 inches
of water per week.
The
typical lawn in the dry areas of the West
gets zero inches of water per week from rain
for the period of May through November.
So, multiply a typical 20-foot by 20-foot lawn
(400 sq. ft.) by one inch of rain
and you can see that this lawn needs a minimum
of 400 gallons of water per week to live.
Now,
multiply this by the total number of lawns
in the dry regions of the U.S.
and the waste of our most precious
resource for life
becomes grossly evident.
